Condition

There is light foxing throughout, creating a slightly dappled effect to the surface. There is strong colour. Would benedift from re-mounting to prevent any further deterioration to the paper. Held within a plain gilt frame, unexamined out of frame.

拍品資料及來源

The inscription and curious title on the mount, 'Projet pour la construction d'un hotel-de-ville Bucharest/ Vue du Salle des Fetes' were added by Howitt's assistant, F.E.Woolley, shortly after the drawing was received from Farey as Howitt, through a well placed contact in the diplomatic service, had been recommended to the Romanian authorities. It is not known whether the drawing was ever sent to Romania.
