Condition

The printed linen is fixed to a canvas support structure via a close stitch along the extreme edge. There are one or two tiny traces of surface dirt visible upon close inspection, which do not detract from the overall appearance of the work. This excepting the work appears in excellent overall condition.

拍品資料及來源

The present work was commissioned for the interior of the Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry, the first new hospital to be built in Britain following the introduction of the National Health Service, by the architect Eugene Rosenberg of the firm Yorke Rosenberg Mardall. Scott completed a 45ft long mural for the hospital which is now amongst his most celebrated works.

We are grateful to the William Scott Foundation for their kind assistance with the cataloguing of the present work.
