Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of uneven varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating. UV examination reveals a spot of retouching mainly to the brown pigment at the lower left edge of the door and two further spots to the shoulder of the lady in the foreground, one of which is associated to a pin-hole. The canvas is slightly undulating in places at the lower edge. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
Overall the colours are fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the white sheets are slightly warmer in the original.
