Of rectangular form with a domed cover, decorated in gold hiramakie with mon amongst leafy scrolls against a roiro ground
Condition
The two short ends of the cover have been broken and repaired with traces of glue along the interior edge, the associated cracks along the four corners show substantial areas of lacquer loss. There is a minor area of depression to the top of the cover, measuring 1 x 0.5cm. There are overall minor chips and rubbed areas along the edges of the cover.
The box has a 2.5cm crack to one corner with associated lacquer loss. There are areas of loss to another corner on the same long side. The base has overall small flakes and chips, including one just below the metal fastening to one side of the box. Some light scratches to the surface.
