The canvas has not been lined. Ultraviolet light reveals a handful of very minor spots of retouching. There is a faint stretcher mark corresponding to the outer stretcher bars and some faint lines of hairline craquelure chiefly below the figure and in the upper left quadrant. This painting is in good condition. Held in a gilt and black-painted frame.
