Condition

Overall the condition of the ivory is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. Antaeus' proper right little finger is lost and the other fingers on this hand appear to be restored. There appear to be restorations to Hercules' proper left foot and leg. There may be some small losses to the hair of the figures. There is minor stable splitting throughout the ivory consistent with material. There are dirt marks, particularly to Antaeus' proper right arm. There is a large loss to the top ivory moulding of the base. There is stable splitting to the wood consistent with material.
