Condition
The panel is flat and even with three cradle bars on the reverse. As just visible in the catalogue illustration, there is a small circa 0.5 by 1cm dent in the panel in the black pigments of her fan and a small faint dent with associated scuff in the yellow pigments of the chair. Ultraviolet light reveals some relatively minor signs of retouching, chiefly an area in the lower part of the figure's right cheek, small strokes in her hair, and some scattered spots. This painting is overall in good condition.
