Condition

Overall the condition of the ivory is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are restorations to a section of the top of the tree trunk, and, also in this area, to the ropes, and to the hands and fingers (particularly the proper right hand). Part of the proper right foot and one of the toes are reattached and restored. The arrows, formerly inserted in the Saint, are lost. There is minor splitting to the ivory consistent with material, in particular down the back of the tree trunk. There is an insert in the back of the base on the left side. There is some wear to the base.
