Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is brighter in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. There are scattered minor handling marks around the edges of the composition and some slight wear to the lower right hand corner. There is a thin diagonal rub mark to the centre of the lower right hand quadrant and a rub mark beneath this, parallel to the middle of the bottom edge. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a some minor spots of retouching towards the bottom right corner and a small number of minute spots of fluorescence scattered throughout, some of which appear to be retouching. The faint horizontal band visible in the catalogue illustration towards the centre of the composition is consistent with the artist's choice of found fabric where it was originally folded.
