元 剔黑雕漆「茶花」圖盤

of circular form with shallow rounded sides supported on a short straight foot, deeply and densely carved through alternating layers of black and cinnabar lacquer with a spray of three camellia surrounded by attendant buds and veined leaves, the petals and stamen richly detailed through varying depths, the foliage naturalistically curling below the thick rounded rim, the exterior similarly carved with 'classic' scrolls

There are a few typical scattered age cracks, some possibly secured with light touch up at the rim, there is some crackles on the base, but overall the dish is in very good condition.

元代剔漆花卉盤，以其雕刻深淺層出不窮、式樣變化多端著稱。克里夫蘭藝術館藏品中，有一大小相若之剔紅雕漆品，飾以牡丹，構圖大同小異，錄於《海外遺珍：漆器》，台北，1987年，圖版56。另有稍大例作，展於《From Innovation to Conformity: Chinese Lacquer from the 13th to 16th Centuries》，Bluett & Son，倫敦，1989年，編號6及封面。可比對一漆盤，中央飾盛開梔子花，環綴細蕾卷葉，為北京故宮博物院收藏，錄於《你應該知道的200件雕漆》，北京，2008年，圖版3。尚有尺寸較小作例，中央飾牡丹豐盈，三朵小花作伴，枝葉環抱，出自仇焱之收藏，先售於香港蘇富比1994年5月3/4日，編號276，後入李氏家族雅蓄，又售於香港佳士得2012年11月28日，編號2083。本拍品與最後兩例外壁皆雕飾香草紋，屬元代漆盤特徵。
