Condition

Bon état général. Petites tâches, légères rayures, traces de petits chocs et d'usure sur l'ensemble de la surface, notamment le long des bords du plateau dues au temps et à l'usage. Un petit enfoncement en ceinture du plateau. Traces de restaurations anciennes le long des bords. Traces de colle anciennes au revers du plateau, au niveau des pieds. Good overall condition. Minor stains, light scratches and traces of bumps and wear over the entire surface, notably along the edges of the top, consistent with age and normal use. A minor bruise on the ring of the top. Traces of old restoration along the edges. Traces of old glue on the reverse of the top, near the legs.

Charlotte Perriand réalise cette commande spéciale pour l'aménagement du chalet de l'architecte Georges Candilis à Megève en 1951
Georges Candilis (Γεώργιος Κανδύλης) 1913 - 1995, Architecte et ingénieur, rencontre Le Corbusier durant ses études, alors qu'il assiste au quatrième CIAM qui se tient à Athènes en 1933. En 1943, Le Corbusier lui confie la direction de l'ASCORAL (Assemblée de Constructeurs pour une Rénovation Architecturale). Candilis s'installe en France en 1945 et y rejoint l'atelier de Le Corbusier, devenant un de ses principaux collaborateurs. Il endosse notamment la responsabilité de la programmation du chantier de l'Unité d’habitation de Marseille jusqu'en 1952.

Charlotte Perriand designed this particular piece for the architect Georges Candilis' chalet in Megève in 1951
Georges Candilis (Γεώργιος Κανδύλης) 1913 - 1995, an architect and engineer met Le Corbusier during his studies while attending the fourth CIAM in Athens in 1933. Ten years later, Le Corbusier entrusted him with the direction of the ASCORAL (Assemblée de Constructeurs pour une Rénovation Architecturale). Candilis moved to France in 1945 where he joined Le Corbusier's studio, becoming one of its key employees, here he assumed particular responsibility for programming the site of the Unité d'habitation in Marseilles until 1952.
