The canvas has been strip-lined along the four tacking edges. There are some very faint fine lines of craquelure in the upper left quadrant. Ultraviolet light reveals some scattered, relatively minor spots of retouching chiefly in the sky, some of which in the upper centre have discoloured slightly over time and are visible to the naked eye. The painting is overall in good condition. Held in a decorative gilt frame with a cloth-lined inner slip.
