elaborately embossed with lions supporting the Tablets below a crowned double eagle and above hands of priestly blessing, also with inscriptions flanked by paired spiraled columns, the base with a menorah flanked by a lion, a deer, an eagle and a leopard, also a pair of doves and a Leviathan with its tail in its mouth, on matted and trellis grounds.

Condition

Some wear to plating, the border with holes where attached, chasing still crisp.

The second-centry teacher, Rabbi Judah ben Tema, says, "Be bold as the leopard and swift as the eagle, fleet as the deer and brave as the lion to do the will of your Father in Heaven" (Ethics of the Fathers, 5.20).

In addition to the word Mizrah (East) and the Decalogue, there are several Hebrew inscriptions: "I have set the Lord before me always" (Psalms 16:8) and "Know before whom you stand; before the King of Kings of Kings, the Holy One, Blessed be He (Talmud: Berakhat 28b; Avot 3:1) and "You shall make a candlestick of pure gold" (Exodus 25:31).
