Two French Torah Binders, dated 1874 and 1880

The first inscribed in Hebrew Moses, the son of Ephraim, known as Maurice Weill, born Sunday 19 of Av [5]634 (=2 August 1874), and with traditional blessings. Embellished with images of a Torah, a huppah with French flags affixed to all four corners and floral imagery.

The second inscribed in Hebrew Berele, known as Bernard, the son of Jacob, Retzheim (?) Monstelle (?), born Thursday 23 Sivan [5]640 (=1 June 1880), and with traditional blessings. Embellished with floral imagery.

The artist has included both the secular and the Hebrew names of the children on these binders. 

Condition

The first: This work has been conserved. Very minor light staining. The second: Lightly stained.
