This work is in very good condition. There is evidence of very minor craquelure at the centre, 22 cm from the bottom edge of the work. There is a very slight paint loss, 9 cm from the bottom and 44 cm from the left edge of the painting. There is no evidence of restoration under UV.

多元層次
朱德群於1955年赴法，為首位獲得法蘭西藝術院士的華人藝術家，其長期嗜讀中國古典詩詞，對東方文學、書法藝術有獨到的研究。展現在創作上，其抽象的筆勢與線條中潛藏著濃厚的東方精神與詩意，而他以恢宏的筆綜、音樂性的抒情語彙傳個人對生命與自然的禮讚著名。吳冠中曾以「大弦嘈嘈如急雨，小弦切切如私語」形容朱德群作品中因線條的律動而形成的節奏感。法國著名評論家龍柏（Jean-Clarence Lambert）更讚其作品為乘著藝術家的想像，超越、更勝自然之美的「超脫風景畫」。

巴黎勒尚特畫廊總監巴尼耶曾言：「朱德群作品的空間不屬於古典透視，這種空間我們可以稱之為『多元性視覺空間』，他在他錯綜複雜的線條間介入一些造型元素，而這些元素往往是用很厚的顏料畫上去的小方塊形體。他讓這些小方塊有致地分佈在畫面上，在那裡經由光線轉折、蛻變，形成了光源，使光線從其中發射出來，同時構成了畫面的空間和形體。」此完成於1992年的《多元層次》，完美表現了巴尼耶所言的創作特色，畫境更呈現一派喜樂與盎然的生意，令人過目難忘。
