氣遊天地，神馳物外

藝術創作之中，繪畫與音樂經常互相啟迪，但像謝景蘭一般融滙音樂、舞蹈、書法和繪畫於一身的藝術家，在現代藝術史上，則不多見。《丹霞照青峰》是謝景蘭的抽象風景佳作，其有如在青綠山水上潑瀉丹砂，使萬壑峰巒浮於漫天紅霞，給予觀者無限馳騁空間，其意境與南宋夏圭、馬遠的清曠山水遙相呼應，但其用色之濃郁澎湃，又使藝術家的感情抒發酣暢，富於現代氣質。畫面的顏色層次豐富，構圖極其嚴謹，從玄黑的底色敷設漸次而上，方及於鮮豔淋漓的丹朱翠藍，水火互濟而象限無窮，產生望之不盡的遼闊景象。

儘管是油畫創作，《丹霞照青峰》的筆觸卻極具東方韻味。作為戰後法國抒情抽象運動之一員，謝景蘭善於援引自身的豐厚文化底蘊，塑造自我風格，其柔靭有力之筆觸，既脫胎自中國書法，亦似舞蹈員在畫布上留下的痕跡，似乎繪畫線條之本身，己是樂譜上的高低韻律，欲在畫面之上留下聲音。

抒情抽象重視藝術家的自發衝動、無規則構圖和率性表達，使得創作過程與作品同樣重要，這與書法和舞蹈強調身體語言、追求過程中的精神解放不謀而合，使得謝景蘭的優厚天份得以發揮，並成為她的藝術印記，在欣賞《丹霞照青峰》所締造的精神境界之餘，觀者亦彷彿能重現藝術家在創作過程之中舞姿洋溢的風采。
