gilt half plate movement, cylinder escapement, plain three armed balance, plunge repeat activating the quarters and the bellows for the 'barking dog', gilt-metal cuvette, eccentric white enamel dial with roman numerals, all within a frame of translucent blue enamel over a fine guilloché background, the lower portion of the dial with a vari-colored gold scene of a dog chasing a fleeing swan, the head raises and lowers on the upward sweep the dog barks the hours and quarters, the reverse with enguine-turned pink gold case with plain cartouche at the bottom, engine-turned band, case Maker's mark F.A. stamped to the back cover
Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it would benefit from a service soon. The repeating mechanism do not strikes (barkes) the correct hours. The blue enamel to the dial has signs of restauration and some noticeable chips (especially around the hours hole). The minute hand is loose. Case back with light scuffs and noticeable dent at 5 o'clock.

本品可媲美著名製錶師Piguet and Meylan聯手製作的「獵犬」系列。Piguet and Meylan合夥期間製作多件臻品,至今於鐘錶界仍享負盛名。出自其手華美絢麗之音樂自動鐘、魔術動偶箱,及獵犬自動懷錶更是備受愛戴。「獵犬」系列編號皆小於300,應屬Piguet and Meylan最早期的作品。迄今所知「獵犬」系列懷表僅存約二十一件。
此作設計獨特,報時方式以一連串叫吠聲替代一般響鑼鳴鐘。
構圖上,本品創作靈感源自Jean-Baptiste Oudry於1740年代所繪之「攻擊天鵝的獵犬」。
