the baluster body surmounted by a waisted neck and galleried rim, flanked by a pair of deer handles each grasping a sprig of lingzhi in its mouth, the body carved in low relief with cranes in flight amongst trailing clouds, some clutching fruiting peach branches in their beaks, all above turbulent breaking waves and below pendent ruyi heads, the rim encircled with a keyfret band, covered overall with a creamy white glaze, the base inscribed with a six-character Qianlong mark

Condition
There are two ares of restoration to the rim, one 2.5cm and the other around 8cm. There is restoration to the horns and linghzi stem to one deer handle. There is also a star crack and associated approx 12cm long crack running vertically down from this and the exterior area to the vase has been sprayed.

宋代（960－1279）定窯瓷向以凝潤素白之釉色澤聞名天下，乾隆年間（1736－1795）官窯以之作為範，特別燒製出一系列「仿定窯」器。本品為當中佼佼者，其浮彫紋飾異常精美，刻畫處處細緻入微，如白鶴纖豪畢現之羽毛、壽桃成熟而生之小點、麋鹿口含自然若真之靈芝、環繞瓶足之翻湧海波等。本品設計鮮明奪目，極具立體感，為清初瓷器罕有之作，應屬孤品。
本品紋飾富有吉祥寓意。傳說鶴能活至千歲，其白色羽毛為長壽之象徵，故本品亦以白釉作主色調。白鶴、壽桃象徵「鶴壽延年」。白鶴、靈芝亦呼應長生之祝願。鹿鶴諧音「六合」，意味婚姻和睦、萬物滋潤之美景。
清代瓷匠首創以滑石粉代替高嶺土作為瓷胎原料，故能以較低温度焙燒器物，防止變形，而所得之白釉色澤圓潤，適用於新設計及仿定窯器。本品與相類之白釉瓷器，均經此嶄新工序所製成。
清宮舊藏數件相類作例，見於《北京故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集：顔色釉》，香港，1999年，頁239－241，當中一作例造形與本品相近，惟瓶身附手柄，並浮雕纏枝蕃蓮紋飾，帶乾隆年製署款，圖版239。另一葫蘆瓶及一仿銅扁壺作例曾展於《明清一色釉瓷》，香港藝術館，香港，1977年，編號140-141。
仇炎之收藏有一白釉浮雕蝙蝠壽桃紋梅瓶二度售於香港蘇富比， 1981年5月19日，編號518及2008年4月11日，編號2507（圖一）。一象耳瓶作例，瓶身環飾仿古紋，2008年6月12日售於巴黎蘇富比，編號325（圖二）。又一作例飾以花卉紋，先後為Richard H. Halstead及The Honourable Hugh J. Grant收藏，2012年6月13日售於巴黎蘇富比，編號185(圖三)。
