拍品資料及來源

Very scarce carte-à-figures map of the world, much sought after for the elaborate side panels, depicting seven classical Gods, the seven wonders of the ancient world, the classical elements and the four seasons of the year. This map "is an undisguised and skilful copy of Willem J. Blaeu's single sheet world map of two years earlier. The clarity and precision of Keere's engraving is in no way inferior to that of Josua van den Ende who engraved Blaeu's map" (Shirley).
