爐直口，口沿飾對稱衝天立耳，扁腹外鼓，下承三蹄足，形制端莊，胎體勻厚。除三足底端無釉外，通體皆施爐鈞釉，松綠伴紫褐，融流似焰，足尖露胎處點染醬褐色料。器底釉下刻三行六字篆款。

Condition
There are some occasional burst air bubbles. The interior well has a slight yellowish tinge to the glaze, but otherwise the overall condition is very good. The actual colour is very close to the catalogue illustration.

雍正皇帝，樂於仿古創興，尤為傾心宋明鈞瓷窰變之玄幻斑斕。為摹此釉，特遣御窰廠匠赴河南禹縣鈞地訪學燒瓷技藝。成功釉種見有帶紫色斑紋者，如窰變釉，以及帶松石綠色斑紋者，如爐鈞釉一類。
本品所施釉色，松綠青翠，紫褐相宜，其綠褐二色對比強烈，垂流疏朗，有別於常見之爐鈞釉效，遂以「孔雀毛釉」專稱，極為珍罕。應屬雍正早期樣式，先於斑紋更為均勻之爐鈞釉色出現，此類釉例罕見於世。
一件梅瓶例，釉色與本品相近，肩部堆貼三圓環形繫，落「雍正年製」四字篆書款，藏於南京博物院，展於《清瓷萃珍：清代康雍乾官窰瓷器》，香港中文大學文物館，香港，1995年，編號38。另有兩瓶例，釉色相類，亦署雍正四字年款，為中國國家博物館藏，刊於《中國國家博物館館藏文物研究叢書‧瓷器卷（清代）》，上海，2007年，圖版66及67。一件孔雀毛釉尊例，同為雍正年製並款，屬長青館雅藏，錄於《中國文物集珍：敏求精舍銀禧紀念展覽》，香港藝術館，香港，1985-6年，編號184。亦見一雍正爐鈞孔雀毛釉雙耳香爐，爐耳分置兩側，先後售於香港蘇富比1994年11月1日，編號99，及於香港佳士得2010年5月31日，編號1883。施更為常見之爐鈞釉器例，可對比一件雍正香爐，形制與此相近，售於香港蘇富比1978年11月28日，編號156。
