Condition

This print, on paper with a semi-glossy surface, is in generally excellent condition. Visible only in raking light are 3 tiny raised areas, likely particles trapped between the print and the mount during dry-mounting, in the upper left, upper right, and lower right quadrants. The print is on a clean, thin off-white board with a slick surface on both sides. 'C,' circled, is written in an unidentified hand in pencil in the lower right corner of the mount. Light graphite transfer from the mat is visible on the mount. There are small yellow deposits of indeterminate nature along the upper left and right mount edges, and on the reverse. On the reverse of the mount, '70.37.15,' '46.182,' and 'M' are in unidentified hands in pencil. Also on the reverse are 6 small hinge remnants and minor soiling. In addition to the print of this image in the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, Conger locates prints in the following institutional collections: Allentown Art Museum, Pennsylvania; Huntington Library, San Marino; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Monterey Museum of Art; The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and Special Collections, University of California, Santa Cruz, this last a Project Print.
