Condition

This photograph, on double-weight matte-surface paper, is in generally very good condition. As is sometimes seen in prints made from 35mm negatives, the film edge, with the negative's sprocket holes, is visible along the upper edge of the print. Along the left and right edges of the image are the white partial outline of scissors, which possibly were used during printing to weigh down the paper. In the upper and lower left quadrant are 2 small, soft creases that do not break the emulsion. There is a one-inch sharp, horizontal crease that breaks the emulsion near the lower image edge. The print edges are worn, and the corners are bumped and creased, with attendant small losses. On the reverse of the print, the following are written in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'HL 635,' 'HL 147,' and '10248.' Also on the reverse are 2 paper-tape and 2 linen hinge remnants. When examined under ultraviolet light, this print fluoresces ever-so-slightly, primarily on the reverse.
