拍品資料及來源
Although little known now, Pichl, a one-time first violinist of the Vienna court theatre, and later music director for the Austrian governor of Lombardy at Milan, was regarded as one of the foremost musicians of his day, his compositions being performed at Esterháza by Haydn, who copied his quartets to be performed there in 1780. The quartets op.2 were published in 1779 in Berlin by Hummel. We are grateful to Professor David Wyn Jones for his assistance in our cataloguing of this lot.
