盌弧腹，撇口，矮圈足。除足內留白，通體施珊瑚紅，近殷紅棗色。

There is some wear to the iron-red enamel at the bottom on the interior, a slightly polished minute chip and two other minor nicks to the rim together with some rubbing around the mouth rim and foot ring, but generally the bowl is in good condition. The colour of the bowl is slightly brighter and less tinged with orange comparing to the illustration.

珊瑚紅屬鐵紅釉之列，絕少單獨罩施瓷上作一色釉器。同類例器，僅見清宮舊藏明嘉靖珊瑚紅釉盤，與本品相近，也無款，現存北京故宮博物院，見《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．顏色釉》，香港，1999年，圖版29。另有一無款礬紅彩盌，器形與此品極其相似，然施彩較不均，售於香港蘇富比1988年11月15日，編號152。
