- platinum, sapphire, diamond, brooch
Set in the center with a modified triangular-shaped sapphire weighing 22.54 carats, framed by old mine diamonds weighing approximately 7.80 carats, framed by a burst of baguette diamonds weighing approximately 10.00 carats, center section is removable and may be worn as a brooch.
Condition
Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 48046 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, no gemological evidence of heat. In very good condition. As noted in the description, the central sapphire and diamond cluster may be removed for wear as a clip-brooch. The sapphire is a modified triangle shape but, set within the slightly heart-shaped surround, it takes on the appearance of a modified heart shape. The sapphire is very slightly violetish medium-deep blue and nicely saturated. Under strong light and close inspection, one can see a fingerprint under the table and another under the bezel facets, but these are not readily apparently. Minor cavity to the pavilion and light scratching and abrading seen under magnification. There is a rounded chip on the top of the triangle; the chip is not readily apparent, and because it is near the center, at first glance it appears to be a small "cleft" to suggest a heart shape. The 13 old mine diamonds are approximately H-I color, VS-SI clarity. The 121 baguette diamonds are approximately F-H color, VVS-VS clarity with one baguette bearing a small chip.
