18 Karat Gold and Colored Stone 'Leaf' Brooch, Verdura, Circa 1940

The stylized leaves decorated with round and fancy-shaped  colored stones including tourmaline, citrine, garnet, zircon and beryl, signed Verdura.  With signed box.

The brooch portraying an iconic Verdura motif. In very good condition. The colored stones in varying autumnal shades of green, yellow-green, blue, yellow, red and purplish-red, all examples eye-clean when worn, under magnification they range from lightly to moderately included, some stones also show nicks and facet abrasions when viewed under magnification. The gold mounting in very good condition with some evidence of lead solder on the reverse towards the base of the leaf.
