Platinum, Diamond and Natural Pearl Necklace, Raymond Yard, Circa 1930

The long triple-strand composed of 959 natural pearls measuring approximately 3.70 to 3.38 mm., spaced by platinum plaques set with old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 7.20 carats, length 48½ inches, signed Yard, partially illustrated.  With signed box.

Accompanied by GIA report no. 2145414893 stating natural pearls, saltwater; 10 pearls in this item were randomly selected to be tested. Good condition with gentle wear to the mountings. The off-round pearls range from creamy white to white, present subtle pink, purple and green overtones and an overall satin-like luster. Lightly to moderately blemished with some ringing, wrinkling of skins and very minor noduling. The diamonds are set on both sides of the spacers, approximately I-K color SI clarity. There are four additional diamond-set spacers not pictured in the catalogue, and a similarly styled clasp set with 6 diamonds. Fitted with a safety closure. Signed on the clasp and with scratch numbers 713867.
