拍品資料及來源

Andrew Clunn was born and raised in England and came to the United States in his mid- twenties. Although he had no jewelry experience, his business skills earned him a place with David Webb who hired him as a salesman at the opening of his new salon at 7 East 57th Street in 1963. Clunn remained with David Webb for twelve years and during this time learned all aspects of the jewelry business from the master himself. Due to his business acumen and great charm, Clunn rose to the position of sales manager and became responsible for the firm's most important clients, including Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the Duchess of Windsor and Diana Vreeland. After David Webb's death in 1975, Clunn returned to England where he became Managing Director of Bonds, the London jewelry firm. By the end of 1980 he returned to  New York and, along with two foremen from Webb's factory, opened his own business, Andrew Clunn Ltd. located at 501 Madison Avenue. The company was noted for contemporary jewelry with a stylish and tailored look.
