Emerald and diamond necklace, 1960s

Designed as an undulating line of baguette, marquise- and pear-shaped diamonds, highlighted at the front with cushion-shaped emerald weighing 5.62 carats and pear-shaped emeralds weighing 4.09, 4.31, 5.20 and 4.55 carats, inner circumference approximately 410mm, French assay and maker's marks.

Please note that this lot is not by Harry Winston as stated in the printed catalogue. Stamped Pt 950 for platinum, clasp with French assay marks and French makers' marks. The cushion-shaped emerald weighs 5.62 carats (no indications of clarity enhancement), the pear-shaped emeralds weigh 4.09, 4.31, 5.20 and 4.55 carats (the latter with no indications of clarity enhancement). Good colour saturation, some typical crystal inclusions visible to the naked eye, few surface reaching, few scratches, nicks and abrasion. Well matched. For further information on the stones, please refer to the SSEF reports. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 37.00 - 40.00 carats, including the two largest pear-shaped diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 1.65 and 1.75 carats, generally G-I colour and VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Clasp secure, safety catch to the side. Signs of little wear to the metal, few scratches consistent with use. In good condition.

Accompanied by SSEF reports nos. 39783 and  39785 respectively stating that the emeralds weighing 5.62 and 4.55 carats show no indications of clarity enhancement, and reports nos. 39784, 39786 and 39787, respectively stating that emeralds weighing 5.20, 4.31 and 4.09 carats show moderate clarity enhancement, all of Colombian origin.
