Colour and Clarity: According to both Gübelin and GIA reports, the rubies are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Special note from Gübelin further states that these rubies come from the most famed Mogok Valley. Also accompanied by a GIA Monograph stating that the rubies are of vivid red, “pigeon’s blood” colour, and highlighting the rarity and beauty of this suite. Please refer to the reports, note and Monograph for further details. In our opinion, the cabochon rubies are of brilliant, strong red colour, eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, there are natural inclusions and a few stones may have surface-reaching fingerprints, generally not noticeable to naked eyes. Pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 0.60 to 1.00 carat each, are about D to E colours, VVS to VS clarity. Other smaller round diamonds are of similar quality. Signed J W Currens to both necklace and earclips. Condition: Platinum and karat yellow gold mounts, very fine workmanship giving smooth articulations and sits well, all in mint condition. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US.
