les montures à cage gravées de rinceaux, l'intérieur laissant apparaître d'un côté le portrait d'un gentilhomme, dit être le comte de Saint-Alban, école française, vers 1760, en perruque poudrée et manteau gris à doublure rouge, de l'autre côté, un portrait tardif, dans le style de Hall, d'une jeune femme en robe bordée de fourrure, encadrés de guirlandes d'épis de blé en or, le couvercle marqué en or "Souvenir", comprenant un crayon et des tablettes d'ivoire à montures d'or, poinçon de maître [?]C ou G[?] un trèfle, dans un étui en chagrin
mounted en cage with engraved C scroll gold mounts, the interior sliding out to reveal on one side the miniature of a gentleman, said to be the comte de St-Alban, French school, circa 1760, with powdered hair en queue, wearing a scarlet-lined grey velvet coat, the reverse with a later miniature, after the manner of Hall, of a lady in fur-trimmed dress, within gold husk garlanded frame, the front of the lid with gold souvenir panel, containing gold-mounted pencil and ivory slips, maker's mark [?]C or G[?], the différent resembling a trefoil, charge and discharge mark, partial date letter, in a shagreen case

Condition
some small scratches to lacquer, restoration to one side, crackling to one top, further cracks to interior below miniature, ivory slip and pencil replacements, the case well restored.
