2 splits on upper part of body, repair at junction of body and foot on one side and foot itself underneath.

There is still some speculation on the identification of the maker's mark, whether the initials are indeed AD, a mark of an unidentified silversmith, or AB, which could be attributed to Arend van Bolten. This beaker appears to be the second piece known bearing this maker's mark, the other being a silver tazza engraved with the Christ and the Samaritan woman, dated 1622, in the Historisch Museum der Stad Rotterdam, and illustrated by Nora Schadee, Zilverschatten, drie eeuwen Rotterdams zilver, Historisch Museum der Stad Rotterdam, 1991, fig. 13, p.56 and page 22.  

L'identification de ce poinçon reste encore mystérieuse: certains y lisent les initiales AD, dont l'orfèvre reste encore inconnu, d'autres les initiales AB, qui pourraient être celles de Arend van Bolten. Cette timbale semble la second oeuvre uniquement connue au même poinço, la première étant une tazza finement gravée du Christ et de la Samaritaine, 1622, conservée au Historisch Museum der Stad Rotterdam.
