If Breguet holds a special place in our cultural heritage, it is because its founder, A L. Breguet (1747-1823) set the standard by which all fine watchmaking has since been judged.
Breguet had the fantastic ability to recognize and cultivate new talent. Being both the "father" of the new talented watchmaker generation and the contributor of the ideal timekeeper, Breguet watches became iconic of supreme horological art.
Therefore this watch is a fantastic example of Louis Audemars' genius and iconic of his strong association with the "Maison Breguet", for it incorporates the best of both watchmakers' unique styles. Moreover, the Brassus calibre invented by Louis Audemars is historically recognised as being the highest quality hand-finishing.
In conclusion, Sir David Salomons was right in saying that "to carry a fine Breguet watch is to feel that you have the brains of a genius in your pocket"... or maybe geniuses!
