描述
- platinum, diamond, ruby, brooch
Designed as a cluster of oval cabochon rubies weighing approximately 38.00 carats, intersected by a stylized ribbon set with baguette, old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 5.00 carats, French assay marks.
Condition
Shows some signs of wear consistent with age. The 17 cabochon rubies are opaque and a medium to medium-deep purplish-reddish hue; some have some fissures and cavities resulting from inclusions breaking the surface, typical of this type of decorative material; a few of the rubies are loose in their mountings. Set with 12 baguette and 49 old European-cut and single-cut diamonds; overall approximately I to K color, SI clarity; some examples closer to L-M color. The mounting is in good condition with some slight porosity at the reverse near the pin.
