carved recumbent on a bed of swirling waves, carrying a bundle of books tied with a ribbon on its back, its head turned sharply towards the back and defined with a neatly combed mane, the stone of a pale greyish tone with milky-white inclusions
Condition
In good general condition, with the exception of a stone crack encircling the neck of the horse and a shallow flake to the rim of the books. Some opaque white inclusions to the stone and minor wear to the surface. The jade of a slightly green tone than as seen in catalogue image.
