Condition
The bowl is in very god condition with the exception of some light glaze rubbing to the base of the interior and minor glaze firing imperfections including tiny iron spots and a burst glaze bubble on the edge of the rim.

「暗花」紋飾幾乎僅見於明初洪武至宣德年間之景德鎮瓷中，似包括於瓷漿上模印紋飾的步驟，此技巧至今仍未露全貌，亦常被錯誤理解為任何難以辨識的紋飾設計。本盌上同施錐劃、暗花紋，細緻浮凸，若隱若現，兩種技法相映其趣，突顯二者相異之處。玫茵堂藏一作例，錄於康蕊君，《玫茵堂中國陶瓷珍藏》，倫敦，1994年，圖版649。據康氏論述，此類瓷盌亦有見施青花者，然後者表裏紋飾與甜白釉盌相反。永樂帝相傳尤其鍾愛甜白釉瓷，青花瓷乃至宣德朝（1426－35）方始流行。參見台北故宮博物院藏一作例，刊於《明瓷名品圖錄》，卷1，東京，1977年，圖版102；另一作例參見《天津市藝術博物館藏瓷》，香港，1993年，圖版73；艾弗瑞•克拉克（Alfred Clark）典藏一作例，曾展於《The Arts of the Ming Dynasty》，東方陶瓷學會，倫敦，1957年，編號9，又於1973年6月26日倫敦蘇富比出售，編號247；另有一作例先後為M.C.
