Condition

Woven horizontally. Pile ranges from one 1/8 of and inch to low to knowheads in areas of scattered foldwear throughout. Ends and sides rewoven with reweaves extending into corners. Further scattered smaller reweaves and replied areas scattered in field. Scattered minor sport stains. Flexible handle, in sound restored condition, ready for use.

Edelman Galleries, New York, 26th September 1979, lot 181.  A closely related carpet, from the Estates of Dr. and Mrs. Jules C. Stein, was sold Christie's New York, 22th April 1986, lot 14.
