Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The canvas has been relined with velum. There is light wear to all four corners and along all four extreme edges with intermittent tension cracks. Visible only upon very close inspection, there are two pin-head size spots of loss towards the left corner on the lower edge and some light unobtrusive paint shrinkage to some of the black and darker blue pigment in the lower half of the composition. There are a few isolated small fine feather cracks in the top half of the composition, visible when examined closely. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
"In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
