the large quatrefoil head carved with a large clump of lotus and crab-apple blossoms beside a beribboned shou, above an apron of interlocked 'C'-scrolls pierced along the lower edge, the plain arched shaft further embellished with a gold quatrefoil plaque pierced with a dragon rising from waves reaching for a 'flaming pearl' below a qilin and a chilong, set between two gold medallions centred with pink tourmalines, all above a gold collar of petal lappets inlaid with turquoise and a hook-shaped terminal detailed with a bat and a wan symbol, carved wood stand

Condition
The lower end of the ruyi is carved out of a different section of stone and secured to the main shaft with the encircling gold mount. The top extremity of the shaft may also be spearately affixed to the ruyi head with a gold mount now encircling the upper extremity.
