finely cast as a recumbent buffalo with its head sharply turned to the left, its powerful limbs tucked along the body and its bushy tail wrapped around its muscular haunch, its mighty horns curling atop its broad neck, a rope knotted through his nostrils and further tied around its right horn, the animal supporting on its back the upper section of a zun archaistic vase detailed with taotie, the bronze patinated to a rich coppery-brown colour with gilt details
Condition
The censer is overall in very good condition with some original pitting and light wear to the surface. The zun vase detaches from the buffalo revealing the hollow body.
