清乾隆 鬪彩四季花卉圖雙耳扁壺

of flattened globular form with rounded sides rising from a short oval foot to a straight cylindrical neck, set with two lobed arched handles, finely painted on each side in underglaze blue and shades of orange red, rose pink, yellow, aubergine and green enamels with a variety of flowers denoting the cycle of seasons, including a large central peony symbolizing the spring flanked by two lotus and a chrysanthemum evoking the summer and autumn, and a flowering and budding branch of prunus standing for the winter, the boughs arching to form the edges of a large medallion, the sides decorated with interlocked foliate scrolls of lotus and florets extending across the base of the neck, the handles picked out with a composite floral spray and outlined with a blue border, all between a band of pendent yellow-ground ruyi suspending tassels at the rim and a 'classic' scroll encircling the foot, the recessed base left plain

There is a hairline crack surrounding the foot indicating that the base has possibly been restuck (with the original piece) or made separately. The mouth has some light wear, possibly slightly polished. Apart from some surface scratches and expected minor enamel loss, the overall condition is otherwise quite good.

乾隆鬪彩甚稀，如此品之雙耳扁瓶與圖紋，更是珍罕。除此件拍品外，現今僅知唯一同樣斷代為乾隆年製之作例，藏於北京故宮博物院，其器形圖紋都與此品相似，錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集‧五彩‧鬪彩》，香港，1999年，圖版243。此二件扁瓶皆傚仿先朝雍正作例，參考上海博物館藏瓶，錄於《清代瓷器賞鑑》，上海，1994年，圖版74。

此品仿傚古風，飾以成化一朝流行之鬪彩。其青花勾勒細緻，釉上施以明亮彩料。成化之時，鬪彩僅施數色，至康熙年間約1720年代，清代瓷匠始用多種彩料，如此品所示。雙耳扁瓶器形，源自明初，前述北京故宮藏例時已有論及，出處同上，頁205。另見一件永樂青花例，見《中國陶瓷全集》，卷12，上海，2000年，圖版17。

不同圖紋器形之乾隆鬪彩扁瓶作例，可參見天津博物館館藏，載於《鬪彩名瓷》，台北，1993年，圖版116，瓶身中心繪人物圖，以纏枝花卉紋環繞之。另有清宮舊藏例，瓶身繪縝密纏枝蓮紋，頸作魑龍雙耳，現藏北京故宮，錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集‧五彩‧鬪彩》，前述出處，圖版247。還有一例，綴如意雙耳，瓶身渾圓，一面繪盛開牡丹、菊、臘梅，另一面題詩，售於倫敦蘇富比2001年11月14日，編號116，與其成對之瓶，為英國威爾特郡提茲柏里放山居 Margadale of Islay 舊藏，於1998年6月16日倫敦蘇富比售出，編號289。
