A fine inscribed early Ottoman jade pendant, Turkey, dated 940 AH/ 1533 AD

of dark nephrite jade, carved as a polylobed arch, finely inscribed on both sides in ta'liq script with flowerheads and scrolling palmettes 

In good condition, very minor knicks consistent with age, as viewed.

With a quatrain in Turkish in a very fine ta'liq script:
hamdülillah devleti askin müyassar dir bana elde tuta ve gam lebbin yadina sagar dir bana ben nicesi olayim pir-i muganin bendesi her kadah ki resha eyler ayn-i gevher dir bana

'Praise be to God, the realm of love is at my disposal, It is in my grasp and grief in memory of the [lover's] lip is my wine cup, However much I may be the slave of the Chief Magi, Every cup that exudes droplets is for me a very gem.'
