This work is in good condition overall. There is slight undulation to the canvas in the corners, with some craquelure and molding in certain areas, particularly on the dark blue impastos on the lower left. A darkened canvas and an area of mild mold is observed on the lower middle of the reverse, which is not apparent from the frontal view. There is paint loss at the bottom near the edge (foot of the figure), and flecks of foxing on the middle right margin. Under ultraviolet light, a colourless liquid accretion fluoresces, running vertically down on the middle of the hat, on the upper register, but there are no indications of restoration. Framed.
