拍品資料及來源

Bathing has always been an important and recurring theme in Vietnamese silk paintings, and in The Three Bathers (circa 1938), Le Pho masterfully expresses feminine elegance, refinement through gestured composition and the natural curvature of the female form.

The colour laid over the silk brings forth the fine ink outline of the women's bodies, insinuating the fair, soft, and inviting skin tone of the partially dressed, yet conservative bathers. Le Pho's mastery skills represent a universal soul, which captures the beauty and grace by fluidly revealing the essence of the three beautiful bathers bathing by the river.
