PINK TOURMALINE, RUBY, SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND 'LADYBUG' BROOCH

Modelled as a whimsical ladybug, the body set with a pear-shaped rubellite weighing approximately 19.15 carats, the elytra set with calibré-cut rubies highlighted by similarly-set sapphires, the rubies together weighing approximately 24.95 carats, decorated by a brilliant-cut diamond-set head and antennae and circular-cut tsavorite garnet-set eyes, mounted in 18 karat white gold, signed AK.

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the tourmaline is of a rich purplish pinkish red "cherry" colour. Under 10x loupe, the tourmaline is generally clean with some minor fine hair rutile inclusions which are not noticeable to naked eyes. The rubies are calibré-cut with a buff top, of an intense purplish red colour, typical inclusions, sapphires of similar cutting, are of a deep blue colour, and the diamonds are of H-I colours, VS clarity. Condition: Very fine workmanship, in excellent condition. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US.
