Accompanied by associated key stamped May Ware Lee & Co, Shanghai, the reverse with Chinese writing, the music work is playing but probably could use a cleaning, the case in good condition.

Chapuis notes in the caption that the "boite à mouches (de velours)" was intended for keeping "little velvets" or "beauty spots" used by women for a period between the late 17th to early 18th centuries.
