Movement is in working order, service is recommended for accurate time keeping. Dial is clean. Minor surface scratches to the case. A minor restoration and tiny part missing to the enamel on the band. The reverse enamel panel preserved well, only one very minor restoration part near 10 o'clock. Overall condition is very good for its age.

The present watch is unusual as it still employs an engraved verge movement. Engraved movements were fashionable in China, and thus, this watch houses the predecessor to the engraved "Chinese" caliber that followed.

The present watch represents a rare and early example from Dimier & Cie. This manufacturer was a Swiss maker of repute, established in the early 19th century and active until the mid-19th century. Alongside Dimier & Cie, other makers such as Bovet, Vaucher and Juvet were
amongst the largest manufacturers of Swiss watches for the Chinese market.
