The design of this bowl is unusual but appears also on a Kangxi Ming-style bowl with a Wanli six-character mark, illustrated in Kangxi Porcelain wares from the Shanghai Museum Collection, Hong Kong, 1998, cat. no. 177; and another larger Kangxi blue and white bowl, painted with a continuous frieze of Eight Immortals below a related border and the interior with a dragon and flaming pearl roundel, was sold in our London rooms, 12th November 1996, lot 43.
