描述

well potted with cylindrical sides rising from a slightly recessed base, the exterior meticulously carved in relief with an old man in a loose-fitted robe, riding on a donkey, followed by an attendant carrying a branch of plum blossoms, all in a craggy landscape with bamboo and leafless trees, the exterior and rims covered with a muted honey-yellow glaze, the rims densely packed with dots imitating a cut-section bamboo, the interior glazed white, the similarly reserved in underside incised with a six-character reign mark

Condition

The mouthrim has a 2 mm shallow nick to the exterior edge, in addition to some other very tiny and minor nibbles to the mouth and carving. There are some wear to the interior and footring, as well as some surface scratches, but the overall condition is otherwise quite good. The actual colour is deeper than the catalogue illustration.
