the curved sides supported on a slightly tapered foot, flaring at the rim, finely incised around the exterior with beribboned bajixiang ('Eight Buddhist Emblems'), applied overall with a translucent glaze of an aubergine tone, the countersunk base reserved in white, inscribed with a six-character reign mark in underglaze blue

Condition

There is a 2 mm flake-like chip to the mouthrim. Apart from some surface scratches, burst air bubbles and tiny glaze gaps, the overall condition of the dish is very good. The actual colour is not as dark as the catalogue illustration.
